Senior Care offers geriatric psychiatry for patients suffering from a mental or behavioral condition. The senior care unit provides individualized diagnosis and care for the elderly in a warm and supportive atmosphere.
The professional staff, which includes licensed nurses, social worker, therapist, psych techs, and a psychiatrist. The staff works with the patient and the family to develop a course of treatment that best meets their needs.
Signs and Symptoms that may indicate a need for a consult.
- Agitation or aggression
- Crying spells
- Disregard for personal appearance
- Forgetfulness or confusion
- Hallucinations
- Insomnia or too much sleep
- Loss of interest in regular activities
- Thoughts of suicide or homicide
- Poor appetite or overeating
- Sad or blank look on face
- Unusual Behavior
- Withdrawal and isolation
